The NATO Association of Canada in partnership with the Defence and Security Labs are proud to host a webinar meant to inform the North American startup ecosystem on the open innovation and procurement opportunities within NATO.
As the commercial sector overtakes the traditional defence/security industry in the pace of technological progress, NATO and other natsec agencies are increasingly resorting to open innovation by harnessing dual-use technologies from startups.
This upcoming virtual panel features two NATO agencies involved in open innovation including the Innovation Hub (iHub) and the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA). In addition, the webinar conveys the three Canadian startup contenders that participated in the latest NATO Innovation Challenge pitch day competition on June 16th, 2020. These include IMRSV Data Labs, Complex Systems Inc. and TriStar Multicopters.
Following pitches by the three finalists and a presentation of the different open innovation and procurement tools wielded by the iHub and NCIA to engage startups, all panelists will be invited to exchange takeaways on the best practices regarding national security open innovation which will be of great benefit for North American entrepreneurs with dual-use solutions looking to enter the evolving defence/security space.
